Who ever thought that the same Danish building blocks of many of us chewed as toddlers would end up in video games? Lego has evolved over the years and so have video games, and the two together is a dream for those of us who played with Lego characters, when we were young. After the success of Lego Star Wars Lego was Indiana Jones, but now Travel Tales has moved to the world of Batman. We sat with the Travel Tales at E3, as it showed us some of the villains and heroes Batman, and you do not have to be a comic fan to appreciate the humor and charm that exudes Lego Batman.
The story is based outside of any movie or book story, but will also include a large cast of DC Comics’ Batman universe. During the past few months, Travel Tales was the release of new villains, and there is still more to go. Build we saw was about 17, but only has a chance to see the small handful, including Bane, Joker, Harley Quinn, Penguin, Clayface, Riddler, and Mr. move. We were assured that there will be more and Batman fans will be impressed. What was the most is that each character has its own výstřednosti, and you can play as the villains as heroes. There are 15 levels with the hero and villain version, as well as three vehicle levels. The Joker had swagger, which was incredibly stupid, but very fitting. The Penguin had a rock, of course, a purple umbrella. The level of detail is astonishing considering the Lego pieces. All the characters have their own special abilities, and special care was made to stay true to the original characters.
Bane, for example, would lift cops over his head and break it on the ground or hold their limbs and the swing is outside the canvas. It is quite fun to come across the new character to see what he can do. The Penguin drops little penguins that blow up after a few seconds. The Joker has a hand-buzzer and zaps people with a mighty hand. Mr. move is useful to get across the hot surface, while the Riddler can control people’s minds. Playing with their different abilities helps to get through some of the puzzles that are suited to your journey. Batman and Robin can get into different clothes, which give them new properties. We saw Robin get into the magnetic suit so that it can go to the side of the wall. Batman comes into slightly suit that he elegantly slide roof from one to another. Batman is batarang is also included in the target enemies at a distance. We have to play some of Batman as well as the Lego video games, the controls are very basic, and there are always useful tips that show up at the bottom of the screen.
It is a good balance between action and puzzle elements, as well, and play kooperativně makes things easier and more fun - the place that will have to go back and forward. We did not get a chance to play any part of the vehicle, but we did look at the crocodile vehicle demo, which was the same Guy Cocker saw in the preview.
Visually, the game is much darker view of the material, but details in the background is impressive. Through the Carnival level, we could see the dark city of Gotham in the background while the characters walk through the fairgrounds. Characters stand with their vibrant colours, which also objects, which may be in contact with easily visible. Music by Danny Elfman is Batman score in 1989 is also included to add to the mood and atmosphere.
Lego Batman has the same vindicatum humor as the previous games and does an excellent cooperation with the game play younger audience. The game is set to hit all current consoles to 26 September.
